Polyethylene (PE), HDPE

High-density polyethylene, or HDPE or PE-HD for short, is produced using the so-called low-pressure process. Hard polyethylene can be used in temperature ranges from can be used at temperatures ranging from minus 50 to plus 70 °C. It is therefore very popular for packaging food, chemicals and cosmetics, among other things. Uncolored, the plastic appears milky transparent and is hard but flexible at room temperature. Compared to soft polyethylene, which is produced using the high-pressure process, PE-HD is more resistant to abrasion and is also more rigid. Polyethylene is one of the most versatile plastics of all and is used in different variants in almost all areas of life. This makes it the most frequently used plastic.
