In contrast to crude oil-based PE, Green PE is not predominantly made from crude oil, but from over 96% sugar cane. The use of this renewable raw material means that one tonne of Green HDPE can store up to 3.09 tons of CO2 and therefore helps to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
Green HDPE is characterized by a comparable property profile and similar processability to crude oil-based HDPE. This makes it particularly suitable for extrusion-blown and injection-molded plastic packaging in the consumer goods industry, for example for filling food, cleaning or cosmetic products.
It offers a wide range of possibilities for decoration and coloring. At the end of its service life, GREEN HDPE is 100% recyclable, but not biodegradable.
